Like Muscle Testing and SUDs, Body Check is another way to find out what's going on in your subconscious. Feel free to use whichever technique resonates with you ~ if your comfortable, you'll get better results!
In this method you determine if your conscious and subconscious are in alignment with a statement by being aware of the sensations in your body when you say your goal.
Step 1 ~ State Your Goal in the POSITIVE
Let's say your goal is to move past the negative feelings you have about your best friend betraying you. You would state that goal (always in the positive!) as something to the effect of: I want to be at peace with my best friend rather than I don't want to be mad anymore. Know that you'll get a lot farther a lot faster if you get in the habit of declaring what you want, rather than what you don't want.
Step 2 ~ Do a Body Check
Maybe when you say 'I want to be at peace with my best friend', you get a tightening in your jaw or a tingly sensation behind your eyes or your stomach does a flip-flop or maybe you hear a voice in your head tell you something.
These sensations are your body's way of letting you know your conscious and subconscious are not in alignment with your statement.
Please understand that there are no right or wrong sensation. Every sensation is just information. You'll never know how far you've come if you don't know where you started!
The point to remember here is that you don't have to intellectualize it, if you are not sure then simply guess. Because in almost every case you will be fairly close to the mark.
Step 3 ~ Follow That Sensation!
Once you Body Check, we work together to identify the limiting beliefs &/or traumas that are blocking your ability to rate your statement at an 8 or higher.
With the Body Check method of determining congruency, is it very common for your body sensations to change in intensity, duration and even location as we work to identify the limiting beliefs that are blocking your ability to achieve your goal - in this example, being at peace with your best friend.
